Health care reform sparked the creation of health insurance exchanges in each state, in order to offer the online forum where consumers could compare and purchase health plans after the full 2014 rollout of the Affordable Care Act. The progress on these exchanges has been spotty at best. Most states have shown very little progress beyond spending money to "discover" how to set these exchanges.
From a broker's perspective, the exchanges will be an albatross at best. Studies show that people like to go to an insurance broker to get insurance because they don't want to have to understand any of the details. Given this tendency, the state sponsored exchanges will be complicated and not provide consumers with the simple question and answer interface they want. Therefore, they don't look like they will be successful.

I review and dissect the articles and news that percolates through the bit space and light years of the health care industry. Touching on important topics, and ridiculing the mundane junk that crosses my screen. I like parts of health care reform, and I hate other parts of it. Most of all, articles with no redeeming value or content other than a backlink, will be lambasted and your company used in the punchline of a bad joke. That's who I am. That's what this blog is about. Game On!
